Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
0800Labs is a pre-launch brand. At this stage, 0800Labs isn't an incorporated company, and the individual(s) responsible for it aren't named on this website, consistent with 0800Labs' standing anonymous/institutional approach (people stay private; only the work is public-facing). The data controller for any personal data collected through this website is 0800Labs. A full legal-entity identification (once 0800Labs incorporates, ahead of any commercial launch) will be added here, together with proper legal review of this policy.
2. How to contact us
Email: hello@0800labs.com
3. What we collect
Right now, this website collects one thing: the email address you give us if you choose to join our waitlist. We do not collect your name, phone number, or any other personal detail through the waitlist form.
If you get in touch with us directly, we hold whatever information you send us in that message for as long as is needed to respond to you.
4. Why we collect it
We use your email address to send you 0800Labs pre-launch updates, Field Notes, product-development updates, and launch information. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
5. Our legal basis for using your data
We rely on your consent. When you submit your email address, you are asked to confirm it through a separate confirmation email ("double opt-in") before you are added to the list. You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing; every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
6. Who we share it with
We use the following third-party services to run this website and the waitlist. Each processes some data on our behalf:
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit): stores your email address, manages the double opt-in confirmation, and sends our emails.
- Vercel: hosts this website. Like most web hosts, Vercel's servers automatically log standard technical information for every visitor (such as IP address, page requested, and browser type), not only waitlist subscribers.
- Google Fonts: this website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Loading a font this way sends your device's IP address to Google as a normal part of how web fonts are delivered.
- Google Analytics (GA4): only if you accept analytics cookies (see "Cookies and analytics" below). Processes usage data (pages viewed, general location, device type) to help us understand how the site is used.
Google Analytics (GA4): if you accept analytics cookies via the banner shown on your first visit, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site (pages viewed, general location, device type). We do not use any advertising or personalisation tool, and Google Analytics is never loaded unless you accept it (see "Cookies and analytics" below).
We only use processors we consider reputable. Some of these providers may process your data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, we will only allow it where an appropriate safeguard is in place under UK data protection law: for example the UK's data adequacy regulations for the receiving country, or an approved contractual transfer mechanism such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We have not yet completed a documented, processor-by-processor review confirming which specific safeguard applies to each; that detail will be added here once complete.
7. Cookies and analytics
This website does not set any cookies by default. On your first visit, a banner asks whether you're happy for us to use Google Analytics (GA4). If you accept, Google Analytics may set cookies on your device to help us understand how the site is used (pages viewed, general location, device type); if you decline, or don't respond, nothing is set and Google Analytics never loads.
You can change your mind at any time: .
8. How long we keep your data
We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed to our waitlist and for as long as our pre-launch or launch email programme remains relevant. If you unsubscribe, we delete or suppress your data, except for a minimal record kept to make sure we don't email you again (a "suppression" record), which we retain to honour your opt-out.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict, or object to, how we use your data;
- ask for your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 2 above. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we have not handled your data properly.
10. Children
This website and waitlist are not directed at, or intended for, children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business develops, for example once we launch products for sale, add analytics, or if the legal entity responsible for 0800Labs changes. We will update the date below when we do.

There's no finished product yet, so there's nothing to sell today.
Labs members see the parts of our research that don't make it into a public Field Note: the unfinished tests, the choices we're still weighing.
When there's a first production run, Labs members get it before it's public. Not a discount. Earlier.
